This bright green aqua-and-white pairing is named after the lovely stone used bu the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians to make seals, signets, jewelry, and other ornamental objects. The name comes from the literal Greek translation of "chrusos," meaning golden, and "prason," meaning leek, suggesting the vivid golden-leek color of the stone. Chrysoprase is also a cryptocrystalline, which means that it is composed of crystals so fine that they cannot be seen as distinct particles under normal magnification...which makes it an even more perfect candidate for a dotted taffeta! Indeed, this silk is adorned with tiny textured microdots that measure 0.5mm, which are pleasing to the eye without being distracting.
