The word for "wave" in Japanese, this frothy vortex of ocean blue and white evokes that iconic Japanese pattern of layered concentric circles that form arches of waves, and symbolize good luck, power, and resilience. Nami were used as symbols on clothing, particularly kimonos, for over one thousand years, and throughout Japanese history it has also been used in ceramicware, lacquerware, and more recently, graphic design!

Beautiful powder blue to white shot silk. If you are looking for light blue change to white this is it. Very pretty. White slubs throughout.

I am a loyal customer of Silk Baron, and my latest purchase of Nami only further increases my devotion. The white and blue colors have been blended together beautifully so as to give the fabric a subtle sense of movement without the need of a woven pattern.  The fabric has a lovely drape and the hand is sublime.  The light plays off the dupioni texture softly and further reinforces a sense of movement without being obvious .
