Perfect size for testing

My only regret is not going for the 1/4 yard cuts! Silk's a big investment, though, so I appreciate the affordability of this grab bag. I'm in the process of turning these pieces into scrunchies and bowties, and it behaves well for cutting and sewing.
The dupioni's quality is so impressive, especially compared to a poly dupioni I've previously tried. It's smooth for being so slubby, and has a gorgeous lustre when ruffled or scrunched. It does easily fray and get stringy, but pinking the edges is effective.
I received a nice assortment of solids, including cream, black, silver, a couple blue shades, and pale gold. I only received one iridescent variety, which was a slight disappointment, but I knew what I was signing up for with a grab bag. I feel confident now to directly buy yardage in an iridescent of my choice!

Like liquid metal

I got a grab bag because I don’t yet have one big project I need silk for, but wanted to play with make some historical costuming accessories. The cuts I got were incredible. I had no idea silk could look like liquid metal. Colors I wouldn’t normally pic for myself totally popped out in iridescent form, rippling like waves between colors. Seriously, I was immediately inspired to do multiple projects just from a grab bag. I feel like once I used up this batch I’ll for sure do another to spark inspiration.
