This vintage but shimmery gold-with-gray iridescent is named for Sargon of Akkad, also known as Sargon the Great, who was the first ruler of the Akkadian Empire, around 2334 BCE! He conquered all of southern Mesopotamia, as well as parts of Syria, Anatolia, and Elam (western Iran), and is credited with being the first person in recorded history to rule an empire!
