DELPHI was one of the most sacred religious centers in ancient Greece, celebrated as the home of Apollo and the famous Oracle of Delphi. From the 8th century BCE onward, rulers, generals, and ordinary pilgrims traveled there to consult the Pythia, whose enigmatic prophecies were believed to convey Apollo’s divine wisdom. The sanctuary also became a major cultural and political gathering place, hosting the Pythian Games and accumulating magnificent offerings from Greek city-states.

This iridescent gold taffeta, woven from two shades of dark green-gold yarns, evokes Delphi’s ancient splendor with a shifting, mysterious radiance reminiscent of sunlight glinting across the sanctuary.
